Private Sector Housing

I have extensive experience of developing private sector housing policies and strategies, to ensure:

• compliance with statutory guidance
• housing conditions in the local area are addressed
• positive practice
• contribution to the delivery of other key corporate and housing aims

I am able to

• review the effectiveness of current approaches to addressing private sector housing conditions
• provide advice on achieving improvement in the delivery of private sector housing services
• provide advice to ensure the contribution of the private sector to corporate and other housing objectives is maximised



Private sector housing projects undertaken, include the following:

• Ceredigion County Council – Review of approach to tackling housing conditions in the county and development of private sector housing policy (completed 2008)
• Vale of Glamorgan Council – Research into the potential contribution private landlords could make to the provision of temporary accommodation (completed 2006)
